Depending on the weather, spring brings not only a growth spurt in grassland but also the "dock season." The unpopular dock sprouts particularly in wet and dry weather. It's important to control the dock in a timely manner. If this is done too late, there's a very high risk of damaging the seeds that have already been planted.
The best time to control dock is during the so-called rosette stage (the first leaves that appear in spring). At this time, the assimilates produced (the body's own products created during photosynthesis) are sent to the roots to replenish their stores. During this stage, the sap flow goes from the leaves to the roots. The rosette stage is therefore the perfect time to prevent dock disease with sprays (the active ingredient must be delivered directly to the roots of the dock).
Dock can generally be controlled mechanically (e.g., for organic farms) or with a sprayer. FAIE offers a selection of tools that allow you to effectively combat both types.
